On day 188 of the ECC, I’m practicing accepting things I cannot change, patience, and trusting the process. Burrito with brown rice, chicken, mild salsa, sour cream, cheese, & lettuce. In due time, the stress from the car accident will be lifted from my shoulders. One step at a time; we move forward. I’m grateful for a reliable vehicle, for which I intend to salvage, and people who have supported in all sorts of ways through this experience. As I stood in line at the DMV, I looked down at the floor and noticed “anxiety.” I hope the person who wrote it has gained peace and healing. I have several students who have anxiety; a few of which I saw today, as they worked through today’s experience. Are we putting too much pressure on young folks? What are we teaching them by creating heightened stress and anxiety in their young life experience? What do we need to change in our behavior to nurture healthy (mentally, physically, emotionally, intellectually, etc.) people who will lead our world’s future?
